Creating a desktop application for a Java Web Start application

After you have used a Java Web Start application a couple of times, a dialog may appear asking if you wish to create an application for it. Creating a desktop application allows you to open the application directly rather than opening Java Web Start first.

To select when desktop applications are created:

  1. Choose Java Web Start > Preferences.
  2. Click Desktop Application Options.
  3. Select one of the buttons to determine how your Java desktop applications are created. By default behavior, you are asked if you want to create a desktop application when you run the application a second time.

Desktop applications are located in the Documents folder in your home folder.
